GENERAL QUESTIONS

What is a Widget?
A Widget - downloadable software to install on your computer, becomes automatically active or is automatically enabled when you are browsing the Internet with your favourite search engine (Google, Yahoo, Bing) or when you are on one of our participating manufacturers Websites.

As soon as it “identifies” the name of a manufacturer, brand, range, product reference, etc. it automatically lists the corresponding results. It goes without saying it takes just one click to disable.

Is it safe, will it not “clutter” my PC

The “Certiflash” Widget only becomes active when it identifies keywords related to HVAC&R products that are certified. Otherwise, it is most discreet. You can disable with a click; you can also uninstall or delete altogether from your PC.

Is it working on all browsers?

The “Certiflash” Widget works on Internet Explorer (versions 6, 7, 8) and Firefox (versions 2 and 3), i.e. on 95% of the browsers actually on the market; it runs on Windows, Apple and Linux.

Is it working on all our participating manufacturers Websites?

The “Certiflash” Widget works on our participating manufacturers Websites. When the “Certiflash” toolbar does not appear – it means that, either the manufacturer Website you browse has not yet subscribed to “Certiflash” or the manufacturer has no products certified by Eurovent Certification Company. Nevertheless, “Certiflash” can be enabled on the browser but not on the manufacturer Website as not yet a subscriber.

INSTALL / UNINSTALL - ENABLE/DISABLE

I can’t install the Widget on my browser? Why?

For the moment, the “Certiflash” Widget only works on Internet Explorer (versions 6, 7, 8) and Firefox (versions 2 and 3).

“Certiflash” Widget does not work if you are using other browsers – Chrome, Opera, Safari ….

Installing this Widget adds a new toolbar on my browser. How can I minimize it to make more space on my screen?

On Internet Explorer
When you install this Widget for the first time, it adds a toolbar.

The position and size of toolbars in your browser are easily programmable. To do this, please click on the separator on the far left of the toolbar hosting the “Certiflash” Widget. This separator is a dotted vertical line..

If you do not see this separator, check your toolbars - they might be locked. Click on the “Display” menu and uncheck the “Lock toolbars” option.

Once the separator visible, keep your finger on the mouse left button and drag the “Certiflash” toolbar where you want it and with the size you want.

On Firefox
On Firefox, the Widget is not a toolbar; you will have two icons, one at the top of the screen, the other at the bottom. Very discreet, they need no minimizing.

How to disable the Widget?

Disable the Widget on Internet Explorer:

If you want to disable/close the Widget, all you need is click on the Widget icon when this is BLUE. Once no longer active, the icon becomes GREY.

Do not forget to enable again when you start a new search! Just click on the icon.

Disable the Widget on Firefox:

To disable the Widget – click on the icon either the one screen up or down – once disabled they become GREY.

Do not forget to enable again when you start a new search! Just click on the icon.

How to uninstall the Widget?

Uninstall the Widget on Firefox
Select option “Additional modules” in the menu “Tools” at the top of your screen.

Go to module “Certiflash” and click on “Uninstall”.

Once the “Uninstall” command validated, you have to start Firefox again so that the command be taken into account.

Uninstall the Widget on Internet Explorer:
On Internet Explorer, to uninstall the Widget you have to follow the same procedure applied to any other Windows application.

For example, with Windows XP – go to START, choose option “Configuration Panel” then select “Add/Remove Software” .

Choose “Certiflash” then click on “Modify/Delete” – then do as instructed.

How do I know if the widget is installed?

On Firefox: at least one of these two icons should be visible.

On Internet Explorer: the Toolbar should be visible.

HOW DOES IT WORK

I have installed the Widget … now what?

By entering the name of a manufacturer, brand, trademark, product range of product reference in your favourite search engine (Google, Yahoo, Bing) the Widget will automatically list the corresponding results.

My Widget is installed, I click on the “Certiflash” icon and nothing happens, why?

The Widget is only enabled in the following two instances:

  1. When it identifies on your search engine the name of a manufacturer, brand, trademark or product reference
  2. When the manufacturer/distributor Website you are on has subscribed to “Certiflash”

I have installed the Widget, it has disappeared. Where is it?

If you have more than one Internet browsers – make sure that you are using the one on which you have downloaded the Widget – also remember that it works only on Internet Explorer and Firefox!

If you are using Firefox, maybe you have somewhat hidden the icon normally up screen. Go find the one which is way down right on your browser screen – status bar!

If you want to install it or re-install, go to: http://www.certiflash.com

I am on a Website that has subscribed to the Widget, however nothing happens? Why?

Are you sure that the Widget has really been installed correctly?

Check the status bar – on the right, down on your screen if on, Firefox or in the toolbar up on your screen if on Internet Explorer. If nothing shows, your Widget has not been installed on this browser. To install, go to: http://www.certiflash.com

If yes, it has been installed correctly - are you sure that it has been enabled?

On Internet Explorer:

The Widget icon has to be BLUE. When GREY the Widget is disabled, you have to click on it to enable.

On Firefox: If the Widget symbol is GREY, the Widget is disabled. Click to enable.

Note: if you can’t properly see the difference in colour, check your browser status bar (right, down screen): click on “enable” to activate the Widget.

How can I know which Widget version I have?

OnInternet Explorer: the version reference/number appears near the “Certiflash” icon.

OnFirefox: choose “Additional modules” in the “Tools” menu.

My Widget does not have the options described in this page and it does not look the same either. Why?

There may be differences between the Widget version for Firefox and the one for Internet Explorer. Also, maybe your Widget version is not up to date, thank you to update it.

On Internet Explorer: as soon as a new version is available, your browser will suggest you install it.

OnFirefox: generally, the new version is offered automatically. If this is not the case, go to “Tools” then “Additional modules” and follow instructions to install.
